On 18–19 November 2025, ET4Digital partners gathered at IIPLE in Bologna, Italy, for a two-day face-to-face Transnational Training on the Use of the Digital Demonstrator developed by the UniBo team. The training marked a key milestone in shaping the new teaching approach for digital transition for SMEs.
The event opened with an overview of ET4Digital and its objectives, followed by a series of technical contributions from UniBo experts who worked on the development of the Digital Demonstrator on a construction site built by IIPLE students.
Day one featured in-depth sessions on innovative teaching approaches, including CDT implementation, OpenProjectBIM platform functionalities, Value Analysis of construction projects, Lean Construction sustainable processes, and Project Scheduling for safety.
Participants also explored BIM modelling for Digital Twin implementation and attended a presentation of the Pilot Digital Twin, complemented by practical guidelines. The day concluded with the site visit, offering participants a real-world perspective on digital integration in construction workflows.
Day two focused on hands-on experience. The day began with a live demonstration of the Pilot Construction Digital Twin (CDT), followed by an interactive workshop where participants implemented CDT-based activities in IIPLE’s IT lab. Feedback sessions allowed trainers to share insights and propose improvements for future training modules.
The afternoon introduced the topic of synergies between Digital Twin and Augmented Reality, presented by Touch Labs, showcasing how immersive technologies can enhance construction education and on-site operations.
The event closed with reflections from all partners, reinforcing the importance of experiential learning in driving digital transformation.
This transnational training not only strengthened collaboration among partners but also equipped trainers with practical skills to guide SMEs through digital adoption, one of the key outcomes of ET4D.
Stay tuned for upcoming sessions and resources as ET4Digital continues to innovate vocational education across Europe.
